Rotarian sunmonu dauud Gbenga hails from Abeokuta south local government area in Ogun state, born into the family of Alhaji and Alhaja shuaib sunmonu.
He started his primary education at the st. Bernadette’s Nursery and Primary school in ibara , Abeokuta, Ogun state where he obtained his primary school leaving certificate, he went further to Nawair ud deen grammar school, in obantoko, Abeokuta, Ogun state. His tertiary institution career started from the Lagos state polytechnic where he was inducted officially into the hospitality world, he studied hotel and catering management all through to the Higher National Diploma when he graduated in the year 1992. He was the first youth corper to serve at Tastee Pot Ltd. (owners of Tastee fried chicken)
He went to further his career at the Ogun state university ( Now Olabisi Onabanjo university)as pioneer student of the Post Graduate Diploma in Public Relations and also a pioneer Master students in public Administration with emphasis on Human Resources Management from the same university in the year 1997. In his quest for education, he went back for a first degree in Industrial and labour relation from the same university and graduated in the year 2001.
He started his working career at the Sheraton Lagos hotel and towers where he cut his teeth as a professional for ten years having worked round all the department in the food and beverage department before resigning in the year 1999. His quest for independence motivated him to register his company and has since been the Managing Consultant of Complete Hospitality Services LTD. ( Hospitality, Tourism and Management Consultancy)
Complete Hospitality Services has diligently supported hundreds of hotel in various levels of services delivery, notably are Brand development and Business opening, Brand strategy, Turn around management strategies, Trouble shooting, Mystery shopping exercises for UACN restaurants all over the country, Management training for Sheraton Lagos hotel and towers, Lagos airport hotels, Golden Tulip now Festval Hotel, Amuwo, Lagos,etc
Complete Hospitality Services has produced several managers of top brand hotels in the country and several leading indigenous Hospitality and Management companies in the country. “This is our little way of giving back to the society”
His service to humanity in the professional circle also include being the Executive secretary of the Nigerian Hotel and Catering Institute, for 10 years, Past council member of FTAN, Lagos State FTAN Membership Secretary,Resource person for Accreditation (NBTE) for monotechnics and polytechnic’s in Nigeria, Member, Who is who in hospitality(WIWIH). He is the 1st Vice President and fellow NHCI, Fellow ITPN ,FNIM, and Immediate Past Coordinator of the Lagos State Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria.
He has delivered several papers locally and internationally which centered on professional development around Hospitality and Tourism business services and other areas of human endeavors. He is a Certified Google Digital Marketer
His Rotary life started in the Polytechnic where he served as the Rotaract President in the year 1991/1992 under Late PDG Wale Kukoyi when we “look beyond yourself”. He joined the Rotary club of Agege in July 2008 and was immediately assigned to responsibilities; he has served in various capacities in the club from the Director of project services, Director of club administration to vice president (2 years concurrently) and President Elect. He has served actively in several committees in the district, R I international convention committees, District Governor installation committee, Rotary foundation dinner dance committee, West African Project fair organizing committee, Rotary family health day committee and several others.
He has attended all the district conferences and all international conferences since he joined Rotary save for three. He is privileged to be one of the few pioneer graduates of the Rotary leadership institute from part one to three and now an alumnus.
He is a member of several professional, religious notably NASFAT in various directorates as the National Welfare secretary and now the Nastat General Secretary all over the world.
He is a member of several social societies whom he has served all these at the highest levels, a mentor in Fate Foundation, mentor in Tony Elumelu foundation, Volunteer to charity homes and foundations where serving humanity is required. He is the chairman of the Ifelodun Residents Estate Association in Alimosho local government. He is the Lagos State Coordinator of the Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria.
He is the founder and administrator of Business Beyond Borders, Hospitality and Tourism Education and Digital Marketing with Ease Training platforms where knowledge are shared. He has served as Member to Lagos State Government Covid 19 Committee and Federal Government Committee on Palliatives on Hospitality, Tourism and Culture.
Sunmonu Dauud Gbenga is widely travelled, upwardly mobile, highly versatile with passion for touching lives and putting smiles on the face of the needy. He is highly passionate about the business of Hospitality and Tourism having delivered papers home and abroad.
He is happily married to a wonderful and amiable wife, Khadijat and blessed with three wonders of God.
